Eric Shahinian is a graduate of the Columbia University Film MFA program whose short films have screened in sixty international film festivals with additional screenings on PBS, the Jacob Javits Center, Lincoln Center and the Anthology Film Archives.

 

His short film "Foreign Sounds" won the Grand Prize for Best Student Film at the Oscar-Qualifying Flickers: Rhode Island International Film Festival and his film "Head Above Water" won the Best Short Film Award from the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival and has been distributed by Discover Film and Euro IFC.

 

His screenplays have placed in the Semi-finals and Quarterfinals at Script Pipeline, Scriptapalooza, ShoreScripts, Finish Line, Creative World Awards competitions as well as a Global Script Finalist at the Oaxaca Film Festival. His pilot "Binary" was placed on the Red List on Coverfly. He is currently developing two narrative feature screenplays.
